Abstract
The increasing number of tourists in various tourist destinations also increases the risk of emergency incidents such as injuries, fainting, drowning, or minor to serious accidents. Tourists' lack of knowledge regarding first aid in emergency situations often worsens the victim's condition before professional medical assistance arrives. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of social media-based education in improving tourists' knowledge about first aid in emergency situations at tourist attractions. The research method used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design for respondents who received educational interventions through social media platforms, namely Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Educational materials were presented in the form of infographics, short videos, and simple, easy-to-understand simulations. The results showed a significant increase in respondents' level of knowledge after receiving social media-based education with a ρ-value of 0.002. These results indicate that social media is an effective, easily accessible, and relevant means of conveying health information to tourists. Utilizing social media as an educational medium can be an innovative strategy in increasing tourists' preparedness for emergency incidents at tourist attractions, thereby minimizing the risk of complications and improving tourist safety.
