Bingkai Media di Masa Krisis: Studi Kasus Pemberitaan Tempo tentang Pemerintahan Prabowo Pasca Teror 2025

Authors

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of President Prabowo Subianto's administration in Tempo Magazine's coverage before and after the March 19, 2025 terror attack on its editorial office. Using a quantitative content analysis approach, this research examined 112 news articles from 14 editions before and 14 editions after the incident. Representation was measured through three dimensions: news framing, news tone, and news sources. Findings reveal no significant differences in framing and news tone between the two periods. Morality frames dominated both periods, while neutral tone remained consistently predominant. However, a significant difference emerged in source selection, with official sources increasing dramatically from 11.67% to 42.31% after the terror incident. This shift indicates that while Tempo maintained its critical editorial stance and framing consistency, the crisis situation compelled adaptation in source selection as a form of discursive negotiation with power structures. These findings reinforce Stuart Hall's representation theory and Michel Foucault's power/knowledge concept, demonstrating that media actively constructs meaning under ideological influences and power relations rather than merely reflecting reality. The study recommends strengthening media's watchdog function and diversifying news sources to maintain journalistic independence during crises.
