Ideologi dalam Bahasa Media Baru: Analisis Wacana Kritis Teun van Dijk pada Media IndoPROGRESS
Abstract
Mass media—particularly new media—serve as instruments for stimulating the audience across the educational, economic, and political spheres. As media outlets increasingly become tools of power for those in authority, mass media tend to exhibit bias when producing information for the public. This study employs Teun van Dijk’s (1988) Critical Discourse Analysis model to uncover ideological representations within news discourse, examining the text's macrostructure, superstructure, and microstructure. The findings indicate that IndoPROGRESS employs language implying its stance as an independent media outlet grounded in Marxist thought. This leftist ideology is evident in the language used in headlines, such as the article title "Resisting Oligarchy, Reviving the Working-Class Agenda." IndoPROGRESS seeks to act as a counter-narrative to capitalist media outlets that utilize normative language and align themselves with established power.Published
